2-As of 2/21/2022. In an internal study, CLEANTheory analyzed the average amount of subscription fees paid per client per square foot per month in contrast to the amount of additional net revenue that a client reported was directly attributable to their use of the CLEANTheory platform compared to their average over the preceding twelve-months. "Critical Space" is facility square footage, as determined by CLEANTheory, to be treated daily. Individual results may vary.

Disinfection is centuries old,
Common methods rely upon chemicals sold through catalogs or non-technical salespeople. So-called "disinfection devices" don't require EPA validation for safety or efficacy and are long on promises and short on real-world science. "Studies" too limited in their ability to quantify true risk and replicate real-world conditions are foisted upon unsuspecting key stakeholders. Glossy brochures and far-fetched claims just don't cut it when it comes to the health of plants and the people that tend to them.
but little has been done to assure it for indoor cultivation.

Unsurprisingly, the average cultivator loses 20%-40%
of yield to disease, costing millions of dollars of lost revenue...even when an operation is profitable. Supply chain interruptions, increasing regulations, global competition, industry consolidation, and changing consumer habits all put downward pressure on current and future profitability. With a smarter biosecurity model, the average operator could increase revenues through fewer yield losses, recoup labor costs and provide safer working conditions.

If pest & disease control is the #1 concern of growers, why do so few automate it?

A new model for cultivation success

_edited_edited_.png)
CLEANTheory has engineered a new model for cultivation success by improving upon the traditional formula for disinfection (dubbed the "Four C's"). First, we use proprietary chemistry unmatched in combined efficacy and safety. Then, we add a specific frequency and timing of treatment (consistency). Lastly, a verification protocol (certainty) determines treatment efficacy. These are the new "Six C's" redefining how operators fight disease and unwanted odor.

This new model means less time and money spent to sanitize and disinfect facilities while, at the same time, passing more tests for microbials means healthier plants. And by automating the entire process you can now save tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars on annual labor costs while reducing or even eliminating the most common sanitation-related employee injuries.
Based on two internal studies. In the first, CLEANTheory performed sanitation duties using the equipment included in the platform and compared it against the replication of traditional methods which included preparation, dilution, transfer, and spraying. The results represent the average rate of improvement exhibited by CLEANTheory's platform against traditional methods. In the second, CLEANTheory analyzed client data prior to and after the use of the platform and the results represent an average increase in the number of passed microbial tests while using CLEANTheory in comparison to the prior 12-month historical period before the client's use of the platform. Individual results may vary.

Is PPE required during application? At ≤ 200 PPM (system-limited treatment concentration), most people have no adverse reactions to working with chlorine dioxide. However, we always suggest and promote the use of PPE (especially goggles, gloves) in SOPs when handling any chemical. It's just best practices as everyone reacts differently to anything capable of being an irritant. Wearing a NIOSH/MHSA-approved respirator for chlorine dioxide is also recommended. Of course, if your facility has any of CLEANTheory's automated platform installed, then the system will generally run when staff is not present and any exposure, even incidental, is unlikely.
-
How much does it cost and how long does it take to get results? While there is a monthly fee for the CLEANTheory platform, there is "little to no cost" for most clients. What we mean is that, while individual results vary, many clients experience a reduction in both failed microbial tests and overall labor effort for performing industrial hygiene best practices. The expectation is that as yield and product quality increase, operational efficiency improves, and net profitability rises. While this process may not happen overnight, most clients experience noticeable results after a short time the system is in use, and it is not unheard of for some clients to see between a 30x-60x ROI in as little as their first 90 days of using CLEANTheory.

What sanitizer or disinfectant does CLEANTheory use?Our platform uses an ultra-premium, EPA-registered chlorine dioxide (ClO2) for sanitizing and disinfection. We also employ a specially formulated non-registered product for deodorization. At the treatment concentrations prescribed for indoor cultivation, chlorine dioxide is generally safe, has a low toxicity and low irritation profile, and consistently reduces the impact that disease has on plants or that biofilms has in fertigation systems. It's also a highly effective deodorizer when used at-source through a controlled gas-release. CLO2's extremely small molecular size and course of action allows it to destroy certain organic molecules on contact without harming the cell structures of plants or people. As a “terminal no-rinse sanitizer” for food contact surfaces, food and agriculture processing equipment, and hard non-porous surfaces, chlorine dioxide leaves no toxic residues to negatively impact regulatory testing, product taste or color, or facility materials.
-
Is it safe for people and plants in my facility?Yes! Chlorine dioxide (ClO2) is routinely used in various industries for daily sanitization of hard, non-porous surfaces and disinfection of fertigation water systems. ClO2 is commonly found in agriculture, food manufacturing, healthcare settings, and municipal drinking water treatment. While chlorine dioxide is a powerful broad-spectrum biocide, the sanitizing concentration used in our platform has relatively low toxicity to humans and plants (in the event of unintended exposure) when compared to substitutes like bleach, hydrogen peroxide, and ozone. Also, ClO2 won't degrade facility materials at the concentrations prescribed for daily use.
-
Is the CLEANTheory platform different from remediation?Yes, completely different! Our core philosophy is one of preventing disease instead of allowing it to proliferate and then "cleaning up the mess" afterwards (that's remediation). CLEANTheory’s real-world difference is that facility conditions, employee health and the plants themselves are all better protected through proactive disease suppression versus using remediation as a primary disease control technique. Our clients typically experience increased yield and plant quality, a reduced percentage of failed microbial tests, and healthier workplace conditions for employees. CLEANTheory helps cultivators to achieve these results while seeking to simultaneously increase profitability and ROI.
